Danys R. X. Delaquis, QC
A civil litigation lawyer, Danys (Dan) R. X. Delaquis, QC, was reappointed vice-chair of the Workers' Compensation Appeals Tribunal in March 2019 for a three-year term. He currently lives in Saint John.
Dan is originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, but moved to New Brunswick in 1991 in order to complete his master’s degree in history in Moncton. He was admitted to the bar in 1997 and became a partner of a Saint John law firm in 2002. Dan has extensive trial and appeal experience, having appeared before a variety of boards and tribunals, the Court of Queen’s Bench, and Court of Appeal on numerous occasions. Dan currently practices—in both French and English—primarily in the fields of insurance, personal injury, professional negligence, administrative, fisheries law, and municipal law.
Among many other organizations, Dan is a member of the Board of Regents at the Université de Moncton; a member of the Saint John Law Society; the lead instructor for the French section of the Civil Procedure Bar Admission Course; and a member of the Canadian Defence Lawyers Association.
