During the State of Emergency presently facing our province, WCAT is taking all precautions to ensure the safety of our staff, as well as the parties who appear before us. Until further notice, all hearings shall be conducted by teleconference. At my direction, WCAT staff will prioritize appeals to be heard with an emphasis on those cases involving loss of benefits. Since many staff members are required to work remotely, we cannot process the same number of appeals as we have done in the past. However, please be assured that we are taking all steps to deal with our present inventory of appeals while processing ongoing appeals, which are still being accepted.
