Limitation Period - Notice number 2 from the Chairperson

Please note that the Emergency Measures Act, amended by Bill 41 on April 17, 2020, suspends limitation periods and includes Administrative Tribunals. This Bill suspends the WCAT limitation period of one year for filing a Notice of Appeal until 90 days after the state of emergency is lifted. The suspension of the limitation period is retroactive to March 19, 2020.

Ninety days after the state of emergency is lifted, applications for extensions of time to appeal to WCAT will be reviewed on the merits of each individual case.

Yours very truly,

Daniel R. Theriault, Q.C.
Chairperson/Président
WCAT/TAAT
